| Well Sherry and I were discussing the fast and when we would be replacing food time with God time. When we started going through our day, we realized that mornings are nuts unless we get up at the crack to spend time with God. Some of you can function very well in the wee hours of the morning, but God would not be getting the best of me at dark:30 in the AM. We also realized that lunch is a possibility with some of our days, but pretty much every evening, we put the kids down for bed around 8:30pm and until 10:00/10:30pm we are unwinding in front of the TV. SO, and I think you know where I'm going with this (and I'm sorry to say, IT'S UNCOMFORTABLE to think about 21 days without my nightly TV fix) we've decided to use that time to spend reading God's Word and praying/sharing with each other during this time. We'll let you know how it goes. OH WAIT!!!! American Idol starts during the fast doesn't it!!! AAAAHHHHH |

| Loved the Fasting TV idea...took it to the kids...just the nature of the fast itself has created some great community time in our home...less tv, more conversation sharing and story telling...Each night before bed we are doing a Kids Devotional Together, aksing what each other's day has been like, seeing what we each want to pray for, and then praying together - it's been cool just seeing the kids get hungrier for God and tuning into him |
